Sand Sculpting is NOT new.  Actually, it is a very old art form.  However, it is true that today's Master Sculptors are raising the standards to a highly professional level.

The sand here in Port A is some of the finest in the world for sand sculpting.  We have had Master Sculptors at Sand Fest from all over the world and they love Port Aransas sand, the island, and the wonderful people here.  The sand is great because it is very fine and it has a high clay content.  It packs really firm and allows some very fine detailing.
